La Posidonie : une plante Protégée

Posidonia rhizomes grow at a rate of only 1-3 cm per year! It is therefore particularly valuable and is why it is protected:

• At the international level by the Bern and Barcelona Conventions

 

• At the European level by the European Habitats Directive

 

• At the French level by the law of July 10, 1976 related to the protection of nature, the decree of July 19, 1988 and the decree of September 20, 1989

 

Failure to comply with the obligations arising from national regulations is liable to criminal sanctions (cf. art L415-3 of the environmental code) and administrative sanctions (order of January 11, 2012, law relating to environmental responsibility of August 1, 2008).
